On a motorcycle

Motorcycle lovers enjoy the tame roads of Bjelovar and Bilogora, and thanks to the efforts of the Bjelovar Motorcycle Club and the White City Riders Motorcycle Club, they can also enjoy special events tailored just for them throughout the year. These are Motorcycle Alka, which is held as part of the BOK Fest theater event, and Motorcycle Budnica, which every year on Labor Day reminds us of the history of workers’ rights and the ways in which they have been defended throughout history.

Motorcycle Alka

Bjelovar Theatre Echoes or locally named BOK Fest in short, a theater festival with a tradition of more than 20 years, hosts the so-called Motorcycle Alka. It is a unique event organized by the BOK Fest and the Bjelovar motorcycle club White City Riders, and is attended by actors and actresses who play in plays during the festival. The goal is to hit the Alka target in the middle from a motorcycle, instead of a horse, and the prize for the winner is a symbolic laurel wreath intertwined with sausages.

Motorcycle Budnica

The Bjelovar Motorcycle Club organizes a Motorcycle Budnica every year on Labor Day, May 1. It is a celebratory motorcycle procession that once served as a reflection of rebellion and the struggle for workers’ rights. In its first days, the Budnica was organized in secret, and motorcyclists drove from the city to the mountain lodge Kamenitovac on Bilogora without exhaust to loudly express the resistance of the working class and demand more dignified labor rights. Today, the Motorcycle Budnica is very public, and every year about five hundred motorcyclists from all over Croatia participate in it.
