Bright Stripes

Svijetle pruge (English: Bright Stripes) are a unique park that stretches from the Kamenitovac mountain lodge in Maglenča towards the village of Šandrovac within the municipality of Veliko Trojstvo. It is a large outdoor gallery of wooden sculptures and the only one of its kind in this part of Europe. The gallery was gradually created between 2002 and 2009 through the mutual cooperation of Croatian Forests, Bjelovar-Bilogora County, the Academy of Fine Arts from Zagreb and the Municipality of Veliko Trojstvo.

The sculptures were made by students and professors from the Sculpture Studio of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts as part of field classes, and they were also made by numerous visiting artists who came to the Bjelovar-Bilogora region as part of various sculpture colonies. The sculptures are made from trees from the surrounding forests and are an artistic reflection of the landscape and heritage of this climate. More than 40 wooden sculptures are located in the park, and individual specimens have also found their place in Bjelovar, Veliko Trojstvo and Veliki Grđevac. The park has no working hours, i.e., it is always open and entrance is free for all visitors. You can visit it independently, with friends or family, on horses or bicycles, however you like, but be sure to include it on the list of places worth visiting in Bjelovar-Bilogora County.
