Mozart was born in 1756, the same year that Empress Maria Theresa founded Bjelovar. This historical coincidence is the reason why Bjelovar’s architecture and other features are close to Mozart’s musical heritage. Atrium of the City Museum, Bjelovar Town Hall building, Music Pavilion, Cathedral of St. Teresa of Avila are just some of these architectural features, and it is precisely at these locations that music is performed during the Amadeus Fest.
During the festival, Mozart’s compositions are performed by bands and singing ensembles from all over Croatia, as well as from abroad, as well as students of music schools. It is also great that the entrance to all events is free for all visitors.
